Falcon Motorsport to race at Spa in NEC Renault.

Falcon Motorsport will contest the final round of the 2012 NEC Championship at Spa Francorchamps this weekend with Liam Venter. The purpose of the race for both team and driver is to gain valuable experience of the championship and the demanding circuit ahead of the Team’s planned expansion to the series in 2013. “This is the perfect opportunity for us to meet the organisers and familiarise ourselves with the procedures of the championship. Spa is a challenging circuit and testing is limited there, so the data we gather this weekend will be very useful next season.

Nikita Miliakov carries the flag for Falcon

With both Liam and Lassi now focussing on Formula Renault, it was down to Nikta to round out the Intersteps season for Falcon Motorsport. As it turns out the last race meeting of the season was one to forget. With Nikita being forced to miss testing, it was an impressive performance to qualify in a strong sixth place for all three races. Nikita has had some amazing starts this year and this weekend was no exception. In race one he emerged from the first corner in fourth place and maintained the place until he was hit from behind and into retirement at Tower corner on lap two. Points on his licence and a reprimand for the offending driver were of little comfort to a desperately disappointed Nikta Miliakov. Race two was wet and once again Nikita got away well challenging Mat Mason for fourth in the early laps before spinning off on lap four. He recovered in last place and did close down a ten second gap, but just missed out on taking the place at the flag. Race three was dry again and another lightening start into third, but under braking for turn one, there was contact and Nikita was launched out of the race. A sad end to a competitive season for the Falcon team. Thank you to our drivers for being a pleasure to work with.
